Taking advantage of very holiday like day, in between getting a few things done I have been flipping through the TV channels, surfing the web, buying last minute gifts and doing some reading. Two interesting things I thought I would share:
1. Canadian Content:
The Battle for Number one album on the music top 200 Billboards has two Canadians in the top three. Both Buble and Bieber's Christmas albums are definitely more than your usual festive albums, both artist spent a lot of time in the studio on them, so it's no surprise they are doing so well.
2. The best moments or top ten list of 2011 are starting to appear almost everywhere. Like previous post suggest I'm a big fan of picture list - love that a year can be summed up into ten pictures. The sports illustrated list is no different (the link)! My top picture from their top 50 list is below - a whole new meaning to a the phase "a picture speaks a 1000 words" - the women's world cup was probably the most impactful sporting event of 2011, in my opinion.

24 Years and Counting
Wow, 24 years! A Birthday is a weird thing that makes you feel excited for a special day but also makes you think about the year that has just pasted and what is to come. Needless to say I had a great birthday and got a great reminder of the all the awesome people in my life.
I started the morning with a quick stop at the gym - the girls just wanted to scrimmage for the day so that made my life easy. JP took the time to give me a sweet Livestrong t-shirt that I'm pumped to wear. Than back at home my cousins, Carolynn and Nicole, made me a delicious brunch, of pancakes and bacon - not too mention they are both fantastic bakers so there are christmas treats already on the counter! After we ate we decided to go check out the progress on the new house my uncle and aunt are building, to make the final transition of moving to Winnipeg. The building is starting to come along nicely and they should have a liveable house by the end of spring, which is exciting and a relief for them. We returned home, I took my car to get some winter tires put on than I started to get ready for my dinner date with Kait.
We headed to Bailey's restaurant downtown and had a great meal with great conversation. Than Kait did a great acting job of convincing me that she needed to call it an early night because she worked in the morning. We agreed to go hangout at Eric's for a bit before calling it a night.
Well when we get there I soon find out our night is just getting started. Eric has a great group of friends there to surprise me for my birthday! (and yes I was actually surprised :)) We hung out, watched some basketball, had a few drinks, than headed downtown for some dancing!
Let's just stay its the Wednesday before Christmas and real adults all had to work tomorrow, so we were the life of the party haha - it was fun!
All in all it was a great birthday, and as Kait reminded me I have had a ton of GREAT birthdays. For me birthdays are just an added holiday for me to be reminded of how lucky I am to have the people in my life that I do and remember those that have influenced it along the way.
Thank you to everyone who made it special!

My Jets Expericence!!
Tonight I was very fortunate enough to enjoy a Winnipeg Jets game (NHL)! Due to the hard work of my uncle over the past 20 years his company has slowly expanded and become one of a kind in its market. And due to his recent success and growth he has many banks that want his business - needless to say I was beyond lucky through connection and got to take advantage of this! An early birthday gift for an avid sports fan was beyond words of thanks! The atmosphere in the MTS center is one that I wish for any competitive athlete that loves the thrill of playing in front of a crowd that embraces them for trying - win or lose the fans there are continuous and loyal! I feel very fortunate that I got the opportunity to be a part of the "passion that fuels this team" ...

Restaurant Review: Waterlily
Two nights in a row I have had East Indian cuisine. Last night one of my friends from school invited everyone over for some traditional Indian food that her Mom wanted to make us. Not only was it great food but we had a fun time hanging out, for once, without having to worry about school.
Than this evening my Uncle insisted that we hit up his favorite east Indian restaurant - Waterlily. Seeing as I had been out with JP and Mia for JP's birthday lunch and was still full from both that and last night I was not the most excited to be eating in a restaurant again. But I have been to this restaurant before and remembered enjoying it so I knew it wasn't going to be that bad haha. At the end of the meal I ended up full and pleasantly surprised at all the different dishes that I tried.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes trying new food - the environment is comfortable and it's family run. My favourite part about the place is that if you have no idea what to order you can just tell the waiter (the son's owner of course) and he will do all the choosing for you. You just tell him what you want - hot, spicy, meat, veggie, adventuresome or not, and he never seems to steer us wrong - I don't think I have looked at the menu once while being there. So if you are ever in the St.Vital area or feel like a great East Indian restaurant check out Waterlily!
